New US Toy Company Lets Kids Design Their Own Stuffed Toys Online

The Xoddo® (pronounced "Zough-dough") website provides children with tools to build their own characters. Designs are then cut, sewn and stuffed to become an actual soft custom toy. Kids design creatures using multiple combinations of colors and patterns, unique facial features, body parts, clothes, accessories and text. Every Xoddo® gets a unique sequential ID number, too. So kids will know when their Xoddo® was built, and have bragging rights if their Xoddo's® number is lower than the kids' next door.

The smallest version, "The Beaner", is a fun-sized beanbag (5 inches wide by 4.5" high). The standard sized "Xoddo®" (10 inches wide by 9" high) is the larger stuffed version. Xoddo is the brainchild of designer Russell Benfanti - an artist known for his character design and illustrations in the toy and children's publishing market. Russell created a creature-builder as a fun game for friends and clients visiting his website (www.benfanti.com.) But it quickly grew into something much larger.
