TexPTS President Recognized for Service at Texas Physical Therapy Association Awards Dinner

Dr. Andrew Bennett Awarded Warren C. Smyth Award for Outstanding Service in Private Practice

Texas Physical Therapy Specialists (TexPTS) is proud to announce that President Dr. Andrew Bennett PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT is the recipient of the 2011 Texas Physical Therapy Association Warren C. Smyth Award for outstanding service to the physical therapy profession by a Texas-based private practitioner. The award ceremony took place on October 29, 2011 at the TPTA annual recognition dinner at The Woodlands outside Houston, TX.

The recipient of the Warren C. Smyth Award must live in Texas and be a member of the National Private Practice Section and the Texas Physical Therapy Association. The award winner must also continually demonstrate achievement in two or more of the following areas: professional expertise, delivery of new services, participation in the professional association, and commitment to private practice.

“Andrew is well-deserving of the Warren C. Smyth Award,” states TexPTS COO Jeanne Smith, PT, DPT, OCS. “Andrew is a leader and innovator among private practice physical therapist and is dedicated to applying the latest evidence-based practices to provide the most effective care for all of his patients.”

Dr. Bennett holds a Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Bennett is board certified in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy, is a fellow of The American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists, and served as the primary therapist for the U.S. Air Force Special Forces Pararescue trainees when he was on active duty in the Air Force.
