Fountain Valley, CA (PRWEB) May 1, 2008 -- iRecyclePhones.com's Earth Day offer to plant a tree for every used cell phone donation brought in more than one thousand mobile devices. And good news - the offer still stands!

It was on Earth Day last week that iRecyclePhones.com, in partnership with American Forests, first notified the public that it would plant one tree for every donated mobile phone. Since the Earth Day release, more than one thousand old phones have arrived at the iRecyclePhones.com headquarters in Fountain Valley, California.

There's no limit to the number of trees iRecyclePhones and American Forests will plant. Last week's celebration of Earth Day revealed a monumental level of activism across the board. People can donate their used phones by simply printing the free shipping label found here: http://www.irecyclephones.com/label/iRecyclePhonesLabel.pdf.

iRecyclePhones.com President, Lonnie Jones, hopes the Earth Day efforts pick up speed as the cause gains public attention. For the past several months the company has focused its efforts on finding alternatives for the hundreds of millions of used cell phones that would otherwise litter landfills, emitting toxic components such as arsenic, zinc, and lead into the environment. Upon learning more about American Forests, Jones recognized the twofold benefits a partnership would bring and contacted the organization immediately.

American Forests is a non-profit citizens' conservation organization that concentrates on improving the environment through tree re-growth. Trees are planted to rebuild areas ravaged by wildfire and replenish urban forests.

iRecyclePhones.com hopes the public's vested interest in our environment will lead to more cell phone donations and ultimately, the replenishment of trees throughout the world.
