The American College announced today that Albert J. "Bud" Schiff, CLU®, has been named the new Chairman of The Foundation Board of Directors. The mission of The American College Foundation is to obtain and steward philanthropic support for the educational mission of The American College. Directors of the Foundation Board are leaders in the financial services industry who are committed to the highest levels of professionalism and ethics, and the rigorous learning that develops those values in financial advisors.

Bryn Mawr, PA (PRWEB) May 14, 2008 -- The American College announced today that Albert J. "Bud" Schiff, CLU®, has been named the new Chairman of The Foundation Board of Directors.

The mission of The American College Foundation is to obtain and steward philanthropic support for the educational mission of The American College. Directors of the Foundation Board are leaders in the financial services industry who are committed to the highest levels of professionalism and ethics, and the rigorous learning that develops those values in financial advisors.

As the Chairman of the Foundation, Schiff's responsibilities include:

• Leading the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors to ensure proper functioning of all committees.

• Working directly with the President and Chief Staff Officer in establishing goals for the Foundation and leading the effort to achieve those objectives.

• Recruiting and engaging new members for the Board of Directors.

Schiff is the Chief Executive Officer of NYL Executive Benefits LLC (NYLEX Benefits) as well as the retired Senior Executive Vice President and member of the Board of Trustees of the Mutual Life Insurance Company of New York. (MONY)

He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and has served in numerous insurance industry leadership roles, including President of the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting (AALU), Chairman of the International Million Dollar Round Table Top of the Table, and member of the LIFE Foundation Board of Directors. He earned his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation from The American College in 1968.
