Rothmans Legal Secretary Clears Michael Jackson: Geraldine Hughes Steps Forward with Facts in the 1993 Child Molestation Case

Geraldine Hughes, the sole legal secretary of Barry Rothman, comes forth to set the record straight about what really happened behind the scenes in the 1993 child molestation case against Michael Jackson.

LOS ANGELES, Ca. (November 21, 2003) -- Geraldine Hughes, the sole legal secretary of Barry Rothman, comes forth to set the record straight about what really happened behind the scenes in the 1993 child molestation case against Michael Jackson. In her upcoming book, called Redemption: The Truth Behind the Michael Jackson Child Molestation Allegations, Hughes reveals facts that have never been made public, court documented information, public statements and records that she insists prove Jacksons innocence.

There are a lot of facts that have not been revealed concerning this case," Hughes said. I have maintained a strong silence concerning the unrevealed facts. That is why I decided to write Redemption -- to reveal them in a chapter-by-chapter fashion. The public needs to examine the information and put it together, letting the truth speak for itself."

Several of those previously unrevealed facts include:

• The custody battle between Dr. Evan Chandler and his ex-wife, June Schwartz, over their 13-year-old son was a key part in the child molestation allegations. In order for Chandler to obtain the millions he was requesting from Jackson, he had to have custody of his son. Otherwise, the money would be under Schwartzs control.

• Investigators intimidated children they contacted from Jacksons personal phone book by claiming to have photos of them with Jackson in order to get them to admit to events that never happened.

• Chandler admitted to David Schwartz, the step-father of the 13-year-old boy, that he had been rehearsed about what to say" and that there were other people involved that are waiting for my phone call that are in certain positions...everythings going according to a certain plan that isnt just mine." Chandler admitted to Schwartz that, if I dont get what I want, it will be a massacre."

Does the 1993 case bear any resemblance to the recent allegations? Definitely, according to Hughes. Amongst other similarities, both were reported the same way: through a third party.

Geraldine Hughes, one of L.A.'s top legal secretaries for 23 years, worked for Barry Rothman before, during and after the child molestation allegations and is now pursuing her dream as a full-time missionary.
