Georgia to Hold Bioterrorism-Preparedness Vendor Day Georgia has invited selected vendors to show healthcare facilities what equipment is being offered. Details of the Bioterrorism Emergency Preparedness Program will also be given. Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) December 2 2003--Georgias Department of Human Resources (DHR) will hold a two day Vendor Fair on December 4 and 5, 2003 to allow acute care hospitals, EMS providers and community health centers to review the equipment which has been selected to improve each facilitys bioterrorism (BT) preparedness. The event will be held at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center, 1000 Indian Springs Drive, Forsyth, Georgia. Activities will include demonstrations of approved products and details of Georgias BT / Emergency Preparedness Program.
Among the featured products will be the Environmental Containment Unit (ECU) AnteRoom, developed by Mintie Technologies, Inc. According to Douglas S. Erickson, FASHE, one of the nations leading experts on standards in the healthcare environment, should there be a BT or SARS-type event, the ECU is the only clinically tested, compact and portable product that can change an ordinary patient room into an isolation room in a matter of minutes, by adding a negative pressure airlock at the room entrance. It also meets the stringent challenges of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Canadian Standards Association."
The ECU is the only isolation surge capacity product selected by Georgia to support its isolation capacity requirements. Because of the cooperation of its hospitals and agencies, Georgia is among the states at the forefront in preparing for any BT event. ### For additional information contact: Jeannette Berczi, 520-818-9222
