Crawdaddy! The Original Rock Magazine Celebrates One Year Online

Nineteen original Crawdaddy! vintage issues from 1965 to 1968 viewable online for the first time

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) May 15, 2008 -- Crawdaddy!, the first-ever U.S. magazine focused on rock 'n' roll reviews and lifestyle, commemorates the one-year anniversary of its rebirth as an online publication this week. To celebrate, Crawdaddy! will make its original 19 issues available for the first time in more than 40 years by offering digital versions only at www.Crawdaddy.com.

In addition, the online magazine has undergone a significant upgrade that will allow readers to easily access editorial content, including weekly features, album and concert reviews, and colorful columns representing social commentary on a multitude of subjects about both music and the industry.

"It is our mission at Crawdaddy! to keep independent music journalism alive in the digital age, giving a voice and perspective to the legacy of the past 40 years of rock, with a focus on new sounds, voices, artists, and their viewpoints." said Jocelyn Hoppa, Editor in Chief.

Crawdaddy! is the first U.S. magazine of rock music criticism. Named after a legendary venue in England, the Crawdaddy Club, the magazine was conceived by a then 17-year-old - and now accomplished music journalist - Paul Williams in his dorm room. Legendary writers such as Jon Landau, Sandy Pearlman, and Richard Meltzer started out writing for Crawdaddy! where they set the standard for rock criticism. Crawdaddy! was the first magazine to feature a profile of Bruce Springsteen, published in March 1973, and is credited with his discovery. Crawdaddy! ended its print run in 2003, but was reborn in 2007 as an online publication under the wing of Wolfgang's Vault.
