KUA to Offer Phone Service

KUA will offer affordable, flat rate calling plans to residential and small business customers in Orange, Osceola and Polk counties.

KISSIMMEE, FL (PRWEB) December 20 2003--Kissimmee Utility Authority's (KUA) Board of Directors on Wednesday evening approved the utility's offering of telephone service in Central Florida, beginning in February 2004.

KUA, in partnership with Sparks Communications, will offer affordable, flat rate calling plans to residential and small business customers in Orange, Osceola and Polk counties. Residential calling plans will range from $34.95 - $69.95 per month and include local and long distance calling as well as popular features like call waiting, call forwarding, call block, speed dialing and voicemail.

To meet the needs of Central Florida's growing Hispanic population, KUA will also offer a "Mi Isla" package that includes significantly reduced calling rates to Puerto Rico. This calling plan, $57.95/month, will enable customers to make more calls and chat longer with friends and families outside the U.S.

"KUA is empowering Central Florida residents to choose a better alternative to traditional phone service," said Jef Gray, vice president of information technology at KUA. "Whether you live in Winter Park, Orlando, Kissimmee, Celebration or Lakeland, you can purchase better phone service without the worry of being nickel-and-dimed for individual calling features."

Founded in 1901, KUA is Florida's sixth largest community-owned utility serving 61,000 electric, water and Internet customers in five Central Florida counties.
