Former JAMS Panelist Joins Judicial ADR

A former JAMS panelist recognized for his expertise in real estate, construction, trust, estate, and probate cases has joined Judicial ADR’s specialist mediator panel serving the San Francisco Bay Area.

Michael E. Klingler, a former panelist with the San Jose office of JAMS, has joined Judicial ADR’s specialist mediator panel serving the San Francisco Bay Area.

Mr. Klingler is a published mediation authority specializing in real estate, construction, trust, estate, and probate cases. His articles include "Representing Clients in Real Estate Mediations" in California Real Property Journal, "Mediating Probate and Estate Disputes" in Trusts and Estates Quarterly, and "Enforcing Mediation Agreements" in The Recorder.

Mr. Klingler first became a full-time mediator in 1992. He was a panelist with the San Jose office of JAMS, then JAMS/Endispute, between 1995 and 1999. Between 1976 and 1982, he served as Vice President and General Counsel of NYSE-listed Northern California Savings and Loan Association, now part of Washington Mutual (NYSE: WM).

In residential real estate, Mr. Klingler has handled disputes over broker negligence and fraud, bad house, return of deposit, title insurance and escrow, and homeowner associations. In commercial real estate, he has mediated cases involving purchase and sale agreements, partnerships, development and financing agreements, lease interpretation, and partition. In construction, his cases have centered on homes, swimming pools, soils, interpretation of construction contracts, general contractor and subcontractor disputes, and mechanics liens. His trust, estate, and probate cases have concerned will interpretation, elder abuse, sibling disputes, and waste by administrator.

As a litigator, Mr. Klingler’s experience includes cases before U.S. Tax Court. In addition, he has over 5 years of estate planning experience.
