Wrestling Violence Hits Boston The Backyard, the critically acclaimed documentary about violent backyard wrestling and the parents that support it, hits Boston January 9th. (PRWEB) January 8 2004--The Backyard is the award winning and controversial documentary about backyard wrestling across America. Backyard wrestling is where kids imitate professional wrestlers and stage dangerous matches in their backyards using weapons such as staple guns, barbed wire, glass and fire. The Backyard profiles several participants who engage in bloody matches often with their parents support. The Backyard was filmed in Nevada, Arizona, California and New York.
A hit on the festival circuit The Backyard won many awards including the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the Brooklyn International Film Festival, Best Picture at The Silver Lake Film Festival, Best Lounge Film at The Sonoma Film Festival and Director's Choice Award at The Texas Film Festival. The Backyard then played across America at Art-House theaters.
