Oink Ink Announces Call For Entries for 11Th Annual Dead Radio Contest

Oink Ink Radio, a bicoastal agency specializing in the creation and production of award winning radio commercials, announces Call for Entry to its Dead Radio Contest.

(PRWEB) May 29, 2008 -- Spring is again upon us; the time of year when once-dead flora blooms again. It is also the time of year for new life in the form of Oink Ink's Dead Radio contest. Oink Ink Radio, a bicoastal agency specializing in the creation and production of award winning radio commercials, announces Call for Entry to its Dead Radio Contest.

The contest - Oink Ink's 11th annual - rewards the best un-produced radio script by producing it full-up, for free. Disheartened copywriters are invited to submit their best radio scripts that have been rejected, passed up, and left to collect dust. Oink then treats the winning copywriter to an expense-paid weekend in either New York or Los Angeles, homes to Oink studios. Recent years have turned out to be even more gratifying for winners, however.

"The contest started as a way to bring deserving scripts back to life. What's been happening recently, however, is just gravy," says Oink Ink partner, Dan Price.

The contest has saved some first class scripts from oblivion. In the last six years, four of the produced spots convinced previously doubting clients to change their minds and air the once-dead scripts. And each of those ultimately went on to achieve success at national awards shows; including a Mercury winner, Mercury finalists, Cannes and other assorted hardware from Clio, Addy and London International.

Last year's Dead Radio winner was Brendan Sack of MacLaren McCann. His spot entitled "Dinner/Moving" was written for Durex and was honored recently with a regional Addy. "Getting the call from Dan about winning the contest felt great," said Sack. "We work our butts off in this biz and watch so many scripts and ideas get chopped, mutilated and buried. Winning a free trip to New York and staying in SOHO felt like I won a million bucks. But resuscitating great work? Well, you can't put a price on that."

The deadline for entries is May 31, 2008.

Oink Ink's East Coast office is located at 38 Greene Street in Manhattan's SoHo district. Its West Coast office is located at 614 Hampton Drive, Venice, CA. For further Dead Radio Contest information visit oinkradio.com or call 800-776-OINK.
