(PRWEB) January 12, 2004 XL Editions is excited to feature the magnificent artwork of renowned "Rainforest Artist" Rong Xiao. His work had been internationally recognized for its beauty, influence of nature, and remarkable composition. XL Editions is proud to display a very large showcase of limited edition individually numbered prints of Mr. Xioa's work at http://xleditions.com/gallery/artists/xiao_rong/ Rong Xiao was born in a family with long fine art tradition. His father Shiying Xiao was a nation-wide renowned Chinese artist specialized in painting flowers and birds. His artworks were even given as gift to the then world leaders such as BritainÂs prime minister Winston Churchill, American president F. Roosevelt, Josef Stalin and Chiang Kai-Shek. Influenced by his father, Rong Xiao showed keen interests in fine art in his boyhood. When he grew up, he took a job in plant/floral sketching, which laid a solid foundation for his lifelong profession as a floral/bird artist with a realistic approach. He also studied fine art from a number of well-known Chinese masters such as Zhizhen Yu, Shiguang Tian, Jiezi Pan and etc. He quickly established himself as an master in painting flowers in a soft and gentle style, which was typical of paintings in the Song Dynasty dated 900 hundred years ago. Rong Xiao is deeply rooted in the Yunnan, which is situated in the Southeast frontiers of China. For a long time, it suffered from isolation as a result of poor transportation. However, this in turn adds to the mysteriousness of the area, especially the attraction of its charming, colorful and mystical tropical rainforests. He achieved tremendous success during the past 10 years and made himself unmistakably a master in this field. In his paintings he shows a solid foundation in traditional Chinese painting techniques, as well as his artistic creative ways of expressions. One can easily see the combination of the two in his vigorous strokes, appropriate colors, balanced composition and a well-controlled alternation of tension and relaxation. Being a gentle and modest man, he never thought much about fame and wealth. Yet, he is also a man with high aims and lofty pursuits. His ambition and aspiration is to share with the world the beauty and elegance of nature that he feels so strongly about in the depth of the rainforest in Yunna, China. He participated in many national shows and was awarded numerous prizes. He also showed his artworks in countries such as the U.S.A., U.K., Australia, Japan and Singapore. His 4-piece painting set The Bamboos, designed for ChinaÂs Post Ministry, was ranked by Japan the best-designed stamps in 1993.
