Baxa Corporation Named Finalist for Third Year as a Best Company to Work For in Colorado Englewood-based Baxa Corporation has been named a finalist in the 3rd Annual Best Companies to Work for in Colorado competition. This is the company's third consecutive year as a finalist in the large company category. Englewood, Colo. (PRWEB) June 5, 2008 Baxa Corporation has been named a finalist for the 3rd annual Best Companies to Work for in Colorado competition. Baxa has participated all three years, since the contest's inception, and each time has achieved finalist standing. Finalists are chosen based on responses to employee surveys sent by the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). The awards program honors Colorado companies that demonstrate dedication to employee growth and quality of life. Modeled after Fortune magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work for in America", the statewide program is the only one of its kind in Colorado. "Baxa enjoys a unique culture where every associate makes a difference in the lives of patients on a daily basis," states Greg Baldwin, CEO. "There is real meaning in being part of team of people that does great things for the most fragile and precarious lives," adds Baldwin. "Baxa associates take pride in knowing that their work is rewarding. Their survey responses acknowledge that the company is a great place to come to work every day. By designing for safety, Baxa makes products that save lives every day. By providing outstanding service and support, Baxa associates make it easier for our customers to save lives as well." Aside from its customer and safety focus, there are special associate programs that differentiate Baxa as a great place to work. One is the Fun at Baxa (FAB) Committee. FAB provides regular social activities for associates such as company picnics; fundraisers, charity drives, barbecues and holiday parties. To encourage employee fitness and well-being, the company sponsors a Wellness Committee that puts together fitness events and supports clubs for running and biking activities and helps track progress with training for marathons and events such as the MS 150. The committee also provides an on-site gym and offers corporate rates on fitness club memberships to associates. In addition, Baxa training programs promote team and individual growth and skill-building. The annual Best Companies competition recognizes finalists in two categories: medium-sized companies (25-199 employees) and large-sized companies (200 employees or more). With more than 400 employees worldwide, Baxa is considered a large-sized employer. As part of the competition, all ranking companies are evaluated by the Best Companies judging committee for the long-term benefits they provide to Colorado.
