Broad Band Phone Services and VoIP technology are effecting more then just the local service market. Broad band IP based phone services are big news today. Most of the focus has been on the ability of these services to supplement or replace services provided by local carriers such as Verizon, Bell Atlantic, South West Bell and the other regional phone companies but that is only a tiny part of the impact they will have on global communications. Northampton, Pennsylvania (PRWEB) January 22 2004--ProvideTechnology, LLC is making a big impact with its clients by providing creative broad band phone service solutions that go far beyond unseating local carriers. VoIP has been a hot topic recently but one company is taking this service into a much bigger global market by from its Lehigh Valley Pennsylvania location.
While it is true that VoIP technologies can allow residential and small business users of DSL, Cable Modem or T1 Services to replace their local service providers with a little creativity this service can provide solutions that almost seem magical in comparison to what we have come to think of as typical telephone services. Jack Spirko owner of ProvideTechnology explained, "While much of the press about VoIP lately has been about unlimited residential service that is really only the tip of the iceberg".
Mr. Spirkos company offers two of todays top broad band phone service providers from one of their websites located at http://www.infinitephone.net and recently they have been helping clients do some pretty impressive things with this technology. One of the lesser know facts about VoIP is that it allows users the ability to set up a local phone number in just about any major U.S. city. This feature opens a lot of options for those with a little creativity.
One thing that can be done for companies and families separated by geography is setting up cheap inbound lines. For instance a family in Florida can bring up a local number in Minnesota where the rest of their family lives. Family members in Minnesota now dial a local number and reach the client in Florida with no long distance charges because the call is local for those in Minnesota and only the party in Florida needs to have broad band service to receive the calls. The cost of such an inbound line is less then 9 dollars a month and is not subjected to the taxes and fees on traditional phone lines.
This technology has also been helping military families stay connected. VoIP is unencumbered by global boundaries. For instance a U.S. solider in Japan with a broad band connection can set up service with unlimited in bound calls that are local to his family in the U.S. His family then can make unlimited calls to him in Japan at no cost and once again the family in the U.S. doesnt need to have broad band access.
One additional example is for traveling executives. With the right provider VoIP is portable just like a lap top computer. A traveler can simply toss an IP phone into a suit case when he goes on the road and many hotels provide broad band access today. The traveler simply plugs his IP phone into the broad band connection in his room. Again his family and customers can now call him on a local number but more exciting is the fact that he can still take advantage of his out bound service and make calls from the room as well.
When asked about the future of VoIP Mr. Spirko concluded, "Well, the technology is here already. There are great providers available like iConnectHere and Packet8 the only issue now is the consumer just doesnt truly understand how powerful this technology is. Right now there are only about 150,000 users of this technology in the U.S. so we are indeed very excited about the future".
