San Francisco, CA (Vocus/PRWEB) April 09, 2011
Responsible citizens of the planet can celebrate Earth Month in style this weekend at Ruby Skye. The Trashion Show, being held at 6 pm Sunday, April 9, 2011, will feature apparel by Skunkfunk and other trash fashion artistas like Junk to Funk, April Loves Henry, Eco Citizen and Girl on Bike. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door.
Proceeds from the Trashion Show will benefit Clean Water Fund, the organization that brings people together to solve health, consumer, environmental and community problems. Since 1978, Clean Water Fund has helped people campaign successfully for cleaner and safer water, cleaner air, and protection from toxic pollution in our homes, neighborhoods and workplaces.
“The 'FuNk continues to strive towards social and environmental sustainability in every way,” said Lauren Kouffman, co-manager of San Francisco clothing store Skunkfunk SF. “We've teamed up with our friends at Aveda to showcase some of our fabulous new spring fashions combined with their equally fabulous hair and makeup stylings for a great cause.”
The Trashion Show will feature fashion constructed of eco-friendly textiles like organic cotton, hemp, bamboo, soybean fibers, recycled polyurethane, modal and Tyvek.
Ruby Skye San Francisco night club is located at 420 Mason Street. Doors open at 6 pm and the fashion show will start promptly at 7. Tickets may be purchased at the Cinta Aveda Institute, 305 Kearny Street, for $25 each. Dirty martinis will be served throughout the night.
