Internet start-up, 10KWEB, is excited to announce the internet celebrity “Afro Ninja” is now a member of 10KWEB’s global network of bloggers and small business owners.
Afro Ninja’s real name is Mark Hicks, an accomplished stunt man, martial artist and actor. He gained international recognition in an online clip that shows him attempting a back flip during a Lebron James Nike commercial audition, only to fall and land on his head. Hicks capitalized on the 15-second clip and turned what was an awkward flub into a popular and successful character. His online persona has been spoofed on “South Park” and featured on shows such as "The Jay Leno Show" and “Tosh.o”. The character also spawned a 2009 movie, "Afro Ninja: The Movie" written and directed by Hicks. The Afro Ninja blog can be found on 10KWEB at http://afroninja.10kweb.com/.
10KWEB Co-Founder, Anthony Martins, is very excited to be working alongside a fellow stuntman and entrepreneur, saying, “Not only is Hicks a great guy to work with, he also brings brand recognition to 10KWEB. “ Martins adds that Hicks makes a great partner because of his perseverance, saying, “He didn’t give up. He went back, auditioned again and booked the Nike commercial job! That kind of strength and dedication is an asset to the growth of 10KWEB."
10KWEB was created January 2012 by Anthony Martins and Thomas Bang as an online resource for aspiring blog writers and small business owners. Their website launched on March 5th, 2012 and is currently used in the United States, Mexico, Great Britain, Germany, China, Morocco, Tunisia, Italy and New Zealand with more markets in development.
