Internet startup company 10KWEB announces it now ranks at one-point-three million among all websites around the world and among the top two hundred thousand websites within the United States according to Alexa Internet, Inc., a leading web information company. 10KWEB began its ranking at 18 million when it first went live on March 5th.
Alexa Internet, Inc. is a subsidiary of Amazon.com. It collects and analyzes data on browsing behavior and uses that information as a basis for its Web traffic reporting. The company also uses the information to rank sites based on traffic from users. Rankings are usually based on three month’s worth of data.
No one is more excited about 10KWEB’s meteoric rise than its Co-Founder, Anthony Martins, who came up with the initial idea for the company three years ago when he saw, “the working world was changing and people were looking for unconventional employment opportunities,” he said. He went on to add that with his new business partner, Thomas Bang, he was able to “refine the idea into what it is today.”
Both Martins and Bang have plans to further develop and expand 10KWEB and build upon its membership until it is, as Martins said, “as big as Facebook.” Though both politely declined to elaborate on specifics, Martins did say that plans involved expansion of the site and its products and services via daily, proactive collaboration with 10KWEB’s members.
10KWEB was created January 2012 by Anthony Martins and Thomas Bang as an online resource for aspiring blog writers and small business owners. Their website launched on March 5th, 2012 and is currently used in the United States, Mexico, Great Britain, Germany, China, Morocco, Italy and New Zealand with more markets in development.
