Internet start-up, 10KWEB, is pleased to announce the addition of the state of Kansas to its global family network. The Kansas team is located in Overland Park which is also the corporate headquarters location for Sprint Nextel, Embarq and YRC Worldwide.
Kansas was acquired by the United States in 1803 as part of the Louisiana Purchase. It joined the Union in 1861 as a free state, meaning that slavery would not be legal and blacks would be considered free people. This designation led to a large number of freed and escaped slaves migrating to Kansas and settling in its towns. Today, Kansas is recognized as one of the most productive agricultural states, producing large amounts of wheat, sorghum, soybeans, sunflowers and cotton along with cattle, sheep and pigs. The state also has an industrial sector that includes transportation equipment, aerospace, food processing, publishing and chemical products, among others. Kansas also ranks eighth among states in oil production.
The state is seeing a growing trend known as “rural flight” which is a migratory pattern from the countryside and into the cities. It is this pattern that 10KWEB Co-Founder and CEO, Anthony Martins, believes to be the motivation for the Kansas team, saying, “As the world becomes smaller and borderless in a digital sense, folks are seeking secondary income opportunities online where they can travel the world without leaving their home. Our resources help them accomplish that.”
10KWEB was created January 2012 by Anthony Martins and Thomas Bang as an online resource for aspiring blog writers and small business owners. Their website launched on March 5th, 2012 and is currently used in the United States, Mexico, Great Britain, Germany, China, Morocco, Trinidad, Italy and New Zealand, among others with more markets in development.
