Internet Company Reaches South Pacific Islands

Internet start-up, 10KWEB, is pleased to announce the addition of the Philippines, or Republic of the Philippines as it is officially known, to its global network of member nations. The Philippines are the latest country in the region to join 10KWEB, following Malaysia. The addition of the Philippines opens the door to other countries in the area including Vietnam, Borneo and Indonesia.

The Philippines are a series of over seven thousand islands located in Southeast Asia. It is the seventh most populous Asian country and twelfth most populated country in the world with a total population of over one hundred million people. The Philippines boasts a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic populace with influences including Malay, Hindu, Islamic and Chinese peoples. The country itself is considered “newly industrialized” with its economy changing from primarily agricultural to one based on service and manufacturing industries.

It is this change in economies that 10KWEB Co-Founder, Anthony Martins, sees the most opportunity for both 10KWEB and the Philippines, saying, “Given the diverse cultural history and the changing economic landscape, the people there have a tremendous opportunity to expand their horizons, so to speak. Through 10KWEB’s resources every person can reach out to the rest of the world and share what makes the Philippines unique. It’s very exciting if you consider the possibilities.”

10KWEB was created January 2012 by Anthony Martins and Thomas Bang as an online resource for aspiring blog writers and small business owners. Their website launched on March 5th, 2012 and is currently used in the United States, Mexico, Great Britain, Germany, China, Morocco, Italy and New Zealand with more markets in development.
