Globanet Provides Designated Third Party Services for Financial Industry Regulatory Compliance (D3P)
Globanet's Designated Third Party Services allows SEC Members, Brokers, and Dealers to Stay in Compliance with SEC Rule 17a-4
Los Angeles, CA, and New York City, NY (PRWEB) May 4, 2009 -- GLOBANET, an established leader in software and solutions for financial industry regulatory compliance, announced today its Designated Third Party Services for SEC Members, Brokers, and Dealers to satisfy SEC Rule 17a-4. Globanet understands that SEC auditors have increased the demands on broker-dealers to be in compliance with the Designated Third Party (D3P) rule. D3P, from a section of 17a-4, requires every member, broker, or dealer exclusively using electronic storage media for some or all of its records preservation to have an arrangement with a third party who can independently provide the SEC (and self-regulatory bodies) with access to a broker-dealer's records upon request. D3P is designed to ensure that a broker-dealer's records are always accessible to securities regulators.
Since 1999, Globanet has been providing compliance solutions and helping firms achieve SEC compliance. Globanet's customers in the financial industry requested Globanet to provide D3P services in 2005. Today, more broker-dealers, including 10 of the nation's top firms, are provided this service from Globanet.
"We recognize the growing demand on broker-dealers to stay in compliance with 17a-4, and since we were already providing compliance solutions to over 80 member firms, this was a natural addition to our suite of products and services," noted CEO, Sevag Ajemian. Diana Torok, a Registered Representative, recognizes "the importance of this service offering, as it will allow firms to stay in compliance and avoid exposing their company to further investigative actions".
In addition to Designated Third Party Services, Globanet offers other products and services to allow firms to stay in compliance with message archiving. Merge1 archives unstructured data into Enterprise Vault from the following sources: email, instant message, Bloomberg, Skytel, Face Time IM, Blackberry SMS, and Blackberry Pin-to-Pin.
