internetsoccer.com expands network

CHARLOTTE, NC – As part of an aggressive international expansion, internetsoccer.com has acquired Soccer Spot Publications, Inc. (www.soccerspot.com). This is the sixth Internet site added to the internetsoccer.com network in the past 90 days.

internetsoccer.com went live on September 1, 1999 and is rapidly growing in popularity with players, fans and Internet users. The internetsoccer.com network, which includes youthsoccer.org, collegesoccer.com, nscaa.com, soccertimes.com and soccerinfo.com, is driving a rapid consolidation among the Internet’s soccer offerings.

“Consolidation is an important part of our business model,” stated Mac Lackey, President of internetsoccer.com. “We believe our customers want a one-stop shop for their soccer
information and product needs. Sites like soccerspot.com further our mission to create the world's largest international soccer community. Soccerspot's management team has a similar philosophy about soccer space on the Internet and will be a perfect addition to an already exciting offering.”

Soccerspot.com’s knowledge, resources and management expertise will be some of the key assets that are brought to the table. With the exclusive content that Soccerspot.com provides, the depth of coverage in Major League Soccer (two reporters per team city), the resources in the US Soccer History Archives (which they own) and other proprietary offerings, Soccerspot.com has been a true innovator in the online world.

“When we started Soccerspot in 1996, we knew that the Internet was a powerful communications channel. Through the past few years, we have continued to leverage its capacity to share scores, stats and information,” stated Nabeel Hyatt, President and Chief Executive Officer of soccerspot.com. “When we met with internetsoccer.com, we recognized the opportunity to come together to offer more to our current and future users. Joining the network makes good soccer sense.”

In the new agreement, Mr. Hyatt will serve as Vice President of US market strategy. He is in the process of relocating to the Charlotte from Washington, DC (where soccerspot.com was previously located) and is already working with Lackey and the other internetsoccer.com team members.
