ACCESSORIES COUNCIL PRESENTS LINDA DANO WITH ACE AWARD

New York, NY (PRWEB) October 31, 1999 - The Accessories Council will recognize the industry leaders of the fashion, retail and entertainment world at the third annual ACE Awards at a star studded gala on Tuesday, November 2nd at The Rainbow Room in New York City during Spring 1999 Fashion Week.

This year's Accessories Council of Excellence (ACE) Award will be presented to Linda Dano, accomplished television and feature film actress, talk show host, designer, spokesperson and author. The View's Joy Behar will present the ACE Award to Ms. Dano. Previous award recipients include Joan Rivers (1997) and Kathie Lee Gifford (1998). "We feel Linda Dano typifies the well accessorized woman. She is someone we can all relate to and has a tremendous taste level" says Sheila Block, Executive Director of the Accessories Council.

In addition to honoring Ms. Dano, the Accessories Council- whose primary mission is to create consumer awareness about accessories - will also honor category winners from the accessories business community for their commitment to excellence. The 1999 list, voted upon by written ballot sent to the Council's membership of retailers and fashion press, includes:

 Retailer with Best Visual Merchandising in Accessory Department - Saks Fifth Avenue
 Company with Best Accessory Advertising Campaign - Kenneth Cole
 Best Coverage of Accessories by a Consumer Fashion Magazine - In Style
 Best Accessories Licensed Program - Ralph Lauren
 Best Accessories Designer - Kate Spade

In addition the much anticipated "Best Accessorized List" - consisting of ten renowned people who have exhibited outstanding accessories style - will be announced during the ACE Awards Gala.
