BioSafe Laboratories, Inc. Announces FDA Clearance For Hemoglobin A1c (HBA1c) Diabetes Monitoring Test

December 2, 1999 Lincolnshire, IL., BioSafe Laboratories, Inc. announced today that it has received notification of FDA clearance for a Hemoglobin A1c test to monitor the progression of diabetes. For 16 million Americans with diabetes, this means they may monitor their long-term glucose control through a home blood collection process that is safe, accurate and convenient.

The American Diabetes Association states (HBA1c) testing should be performed routinely in all patients with diabetes." The National Diabetes Education Program recommends regular Hemoglobin A1c testing for blood sugar control.

BioSafe is expecting to begin shipments of the new test early in the year 2000. Tests may be purchased directly from the BioSafe web site at www.ebiosafe.com.
