OTTAWA and SUMMERSIDE (CANADA) (Feb 10, 2000) - The staff and management behind the
online employment portal Job Bus Canada announced today the launch of Great Canadian Shopping (http://www.greatcanadianshopping.com/), an online shopping portal.

"As we like to say, we've showed you how to earn it, now we'll show you how to spend it!" said Site Administrator Luc Theriault.

Great Canadian Shopping is a directory and search engine of Canadian stores who offer full online shopping. It is run by farfan.com, a Canadian Internet media firm.

The site's management said they list only Canadian stores who offer the full shopping transaction online, who ship from Canada, and who bill in Canadian Funds. Many listings also include Quick Reviews, with information about the merchants' sites.

Users can search for specific keywords or stores, and browse through the categories of product types. The site is free to use and there is no cost for merchants to list their stores. The site generates its revenue through online advertising.

"While there are a number of listings of online merchants, it can be a chore to sort through the sites to find what you're looking for," said Site Manager Sara Parent.

"Last Christmas saw the long-awaited boom in online shopping in Canada," said Theriault, "and our own users have mentioned having problems finding quality online shopping sites in Canada. We're here to help."

And how does the staff know their service will be useful for the online community? "We've been using our directory to find merchants and products for our own personal and business online shopping needs. That works for me!" added Theriault.
