ITN launches Chem-Dry operations in Shanghai
California- Following on the heels of its successful opening of Chem-Dry operations in Beijing in September 19999, California-based International Technologies Network, Inc. (ITN") has launched Chem-Dry in Shanghai, Chinas most developed city. ITN has formed a subsidiary named Edelweiss to carry out Chem-Dry operations. Following Edelweiss Beijing and Shanghai, ITN plans to launch Edelweiss Hong Kong in March 2000. The Shanghai office is located in the Holiday Inn at Pudong Special Economic Zone and is managed by Ms. Sophia Qianying.
Chem-Dry is the worlds largest carpet cleaning franchise. Its revolutionary carbonated carpet cleaning method has propelled Chem-Dry into the forefront of the carpet cleaning industry, with nearly 4,000 franchises in 48 countries, including the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, Japan, Russia, China and, of course, the Unites States.
The response to services provided by Edelweiss, Beijing vindicates ITNs confidence in the evolution of Chinas marketplace. Despite inevitable problems and pitfalls, China offers exciting opportunities for franchisers. The authorities appear to be keen to develop the franchising concept as a vehicle to alleviate the unemployment situation. ITN is seeking to become one of the first wholly foreign owned companies permitted to grant sub-franchises in China.
ITN is a California registered company specializing in China ventures. ITN is engaged in consulting, trading, venture development, and franchise development. Among ITNs list of past and present consulting clients are such companies as Sheldahl, Inc. (Nasdaq: SHEL), Jabil Circuits, Inc. (NYSE: JBL), and Cookson Group plc (LSE: CKSN). ITN exports electronic components and products, and color photo-films manufactured in China to Europe.
