MIT ENTERPRISE FORUM OF CAMBRIDGE HOSTS
"COUNTDOWN TO PRIME TIME:
MOVING FROM CONCEPT TO REALTIY" - APRIL 29

Dateline: Cambridge, MA, Issued March 3, 000...
You have recently developed a business plan that has the potential to take your market by storm. The premise of your strategy is innovative, dynamic, and original. All the essentials for success are in place and ready to roll, all you need is one thing: help in taking your idea "live".

In its 22nd year of entrepreneurs in establishing their businesses, the renown MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge, MA is hosting an expansive workshop entitled "Countdown to Prime Time: Moving from Concept to Reality" on Saturday, April 29, 2000 from 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Westin Hotel in Waltham, MA.

The workshop will include: specialized information sessions and networking opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs who have the adventurous spirit, business savvy, and the "golden idea," but who may lack the resources to make their plan work.

The event will feature several guest speakers, including a keynote panel discussion moderated by Desh Deshpande, Chairman and Founder of Sycamore Systems, Inc and Mike Cassidy, CEO of Direct Hit, recently acquired by Ask Jeeves. Individual breakout sessions will include topics such as how to make the right connections and assemble a winning personnel team, converting the business concept into a reality, the pros and cons of "incubators" for start-up companies, as well as how to secure capital funding to get your business off the ground.

In a novel twist on the "working lunch", workshop participants will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas at investors and panelists and receive live feedback during the lunch break. The day will conclude with a networking reception aimed at opening doors and providing opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs.

The MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge was founded in 1978. Since its inception, it has worked to provide guidance, advice, and support, as well as networking for entrepreneurs and innovators throughout the technology world. This forum is part an international network of 18 chapters that exists to foster and promote creativity, innovation, and success for start-up businesses.

Workshops are held in the Spring and Fall seasons. This semi-annual event has attracted a wide range of people ranging from founders, inventors, established entrepreneurs, investors, consultants, and academics. In the past, business leaders such as Pat McGover, Founder of IDG, Ken Olson, founder of Digital Equipment Corporation, George Hatsopoulos, founder and Chairman of Thermo Electron Corporation, and Ray Stata, founder and CEO of Analog Devices have all attended this event.
