E-business and ERP software are the focal points
E-business and ERP software are the focal points
abas-EKS users are very interested in the new E-business software TROJA. Many visitors to the CeBIT 2000 fair, who are looking for an independent E-business solution, are finding out about the abas-newcomer. The ERP software abas-EKS, the 'flagship' of ABAS Software AG, and its software partners' various software solutions are also impressing visitors. Foreign visitors in particular are interested in the ERP software abas-EKS and the E-business software TROJA.
Ease of Use with TROJA - the E-business software
"Can we take a copy with us now?" - the abas newcomer TROJA is convincing visitors. Highlights: The users can authenticate themselves and obtain access entitlement to their order data. Live ERP data like price or delivery timescales (e.g. from abas-EKS) is available in the Internet product catalogue of TROJA together with other graphical information about products. Drawings and video-tapes illustrating the application of the products can be integrated with a few 'clicks'. Easy navigation can be performed through the various product groups on offer. The order is automatically reported to the sales department via abas-EKS immediately after the online-order has been placed in the shopping basket. TROJA distinguishes itself by means of the most modern Internet technology available: the Java programming language, server-component model Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) and XML data format (Extensible Markup Language). The new E-business software can be easily and flexibly integrated into the IT environment and can be combined with the standard business software abas-EKS as well as with other systems.
The whole range of business solutions
The new release of the ERP software abas-EKS and the IT solutions of the software partners go down well. There are enhancements to Materials Management, Production and Accounting as well as the newly revised Lot Management. At CeBIT 2000 many useful details and additional solutions are presented as well. The range of add-ons goes from Staff Attendance Recording and Job Time, the integration of CAD and CAQ, Firewall and Data Warehouse to EDI (Electronic Data Interchange). Data Management Systems, Form and Report Generators round off the ABAS IT offerings.
Current CeBIT catchword: Application Service Providing (ASP)
In addition to E-business and ERP solutions, the market for Application Service Providers (ASP) is one of the strongest growth sectors. Leasing software is highly regarded by opinion leaders and specialists in this field. With two customer installations, ABAS are one of the pioneers in the ASP area. The ASP idea comes from the United States. "An Application Service Provider is a service company that leases software solutions. This way the customer does not have to buy the software themselve and install it on its own system but can access the applications, which are hosted by the service provider, via the Internet" (Definition from: Digital Enterprise March/April 1/2000). By using the ASP-model, the customer can minimize acquisition and maintenance costs and simplify software support. There are also two abas-EKS installations via ASP right now. All of the abas-EKS ERP software and data are stored in an external computer centre where a support team looks after both the software and the hardware.
