TUSTIN, Calif.- April 17, 2000 – Adding to the arsenal of CD Recording and Backup software, NewTech Infosystems, Inc. released the 2000/NT Edition of Backup NOW! for CD Recorders and Rewriters and first

to include both Image and File level backup on Windows 2000/NT platform in a single application dedicated for CD recorders.

The feature set of NTI Backup NOW!-2000/NT is compelling as an alternative to other backup methods. Both Image and File level backup capabilities are supported and allow users to make a master Image backup on a partition-by-partition basis, with Media Spanning to allow a single backup across multiple CD’s. Scheduled backup is then performed at the File level, backing up only new or changed files. In this manner, master backup is only performed as required and File backup can be performed daily, weekly, or monthly. Each new backup will append to the previous backup, until the CD is full. When it is full, the CDRW Erase utility can be used to erase the old backup data so the R/W media can be reused again.

A built-in scheduler, enables users to easily schedule automatic backups as the environment dictates. File level backup can be scheduled for any daily combination. The scheduler also provides weekly, monthly, and one time only backup, including the time of day/night to start the backup.

Selectable on-the-fly compression is standard and advanced packet writing methods, which provides write optimization, allowing external speed variables to perform at their current maximum operating rate. These combinations together increase backup storage and reduce backup time, both which are highly coveted in a backup environment. NTI BackupNOW!-2000/NT supports Write Only, Compare Only, and Write/Compare functions.

NTI Backup NOW!-2000/NT can do a File Restore as well as a full Restore and has a useful utility to build a Bootable Emergency Recovery CD. Should a crash of this type occur, the Boot CD will restore the system so that a full recovery can be performed. A friendly step-by-step interface and Tip Wizards are included to guide first time users through the backup process, with drop down screens for more advanced operations.

NTI Backup NOW!-2000/NT is compatible with all major CD-R/RW manufacturers and is available in OEM package and Retail configurations beginning in April 2000, at a retail price of $149. System requirements are Pentium 133 or higher with 64MB of RAM, Microsoft Windows 2000 or NT 4.x, 5MB of free hard disk space for installation, and an NTI-supported CD-R/RW drive. Trial versions are available for download at http://www.ntibackupnow.com.

NTI has been providing CD Recording solutions since 1993 and is currently bundled with a number of major drive and system manufacturers with CD Maker Pro, a spearhead application for general purpose recording

of audio, video, and data. CD Maker Pro supports Disk-at-Once, Track-at-Once, Session-at-Once, and Drag-and-Drop Packet Writing capabilities.
