San Francisco, CA-April 25, 2000-Lundberg Design, an architectural and design firm, has created a humorous, yet controversial re-definition of the Microsoft Mouse for "Tails of the City", a charity auction benefiting the Destination Foundation.
Lundbergs creation, coined "Of Mice & Men", is a social commentary on Microsoft's current antitrust lawsuit under investigation by the Department of Justice, and the financial trap of the fast-paced high-tech world. Approximately 100 Bay Area celebrities, tech gurus and designers have taken the Microsoft mouse and re-designed it for the benefit auction on Tuesday, May 18, 2000.
Destination Foundation, a non-profit organization, grants dream trips to men and women in the San Francisco gay community who are over the age of 21 years and have either a life-threatening illness, are permanently disabled, or are in financial need.
Lundberg Design chose to enter the auction under the "Most Tail-Spinning" category.
T. Olle Lundberg, CEO of Lundberg Design, notes that " the design can be interpreted in many ways, and I assure you that it is a coincidence that we use Apple computers."
'Of Mice & Men" has been installed at MicrosoftSF (located on the second floor of the Metreon in San Francisco). If you want a "jpg" file emailed to you or a photograph of the design, please contact Marcia Raymond at marcia@lundbergdesign.com or call 212.246.0511.
