UK COMPANY SETS UP AN INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION FOR NET RETAILERS
E-businesses can now join the recently launched Net Retailers Federation to help promote and develop their online services.
The e-business service which targets internet retailers allows members to display the NRF Hallmark that authenticates web businesses as genuine and promotes their agreement to endorse the NRF E-commerce Code of Practice in their online trading. The service also supports a unique E-commerce Certification Program where consumers themselves can check out an e-tailers company profile before deciding to purchase goods or services online.
The emergence of a federation for net retailers comes after almost 18 months of research and development by founders Jason Oliver and Ronald Barnato.
The principle idea was to find a way to help every e-business, regardless of size or budget, establish a means of gaining crucial consumer confidence and so maximise their sales. It seemed that whilst there were justifiable concerns from the government and various consumer associations to set up an e-commerce directive to protect consumers no one was actually thinking about the problems faced by those businesses actually providing the online services, or those still waiting to take the Internet plunge."
In addition to providing vital e-business to e-business services for its members the site is packed with consumer information and advice on things to look out for and to avoid whilst getting the best out of shopping online.
We felt that this side of the website was particularly important because e-commerce is still suffering from many consumer fears which to a large extent stems from a lack of understanding. If our service can help the consumer learn about this medium then our members will ultimately benefit."
Initially the service hopes to attract up to 2000 members within the first 6 months from both the UK and abroad and with membership packages starting at just 99 it surely wont be long before the NRF becomes a major voice in the fast-changing development of e-commerce and Internet shopping.
