AccessweB helps stop rip-off Britain

AccessweB 2, the one stop web shop solution, is helping stop Rip-Off Britain by offering cars for sale on the Internet. In the last two months Access has delivered seven web sites to the motor trade.

This move has helped lower car prices and rebuts charges that UK customers are overcharged compared to others in Europe.

The AccessweB motor industry clients say that customers will be able to order a new car over the Internet and have it delivered to their door within a week of placing the order.

Customers will be able to arrange finance, find out how much their existing car would be worth in a part-exchange, and arrange a test drive over the web.

AccessweB General Manager Marcus Russell said, Because of AccessweB customers will further benefit from savings in normal marketing and distribution costs, which will be reflected in lower list prices. This is a start and we want to see prices come down across the board, so the pressure must be kept up."

The car industry has been under pressure to cut its prices following an investigation from the Competition Commission.

Many surveys have shown that identical cars are sold in Europe for prices far below those charged in the UK.

In the US, car buying over the Internet has become an important factor in forcing prices down, with customers able to compare prices and dealer mark-ups over the country.

Mr Russell added, Just as we have reduced the price of entry for e-commerce for SMEs as part of our British Business Online Campaign we are now helping reduce the price of cars and prevent Rip-Off Britain."
