THERE'S A "BLUE MOON" RISING ON THE EPUBLISHING HORIZON
Appleton, Wisconsin - Now that Stephen King has graced the literary world with his first electronic book, people take greater notice of ebooks, and the big publishers don't look quite so condescendingly on this medium.
But what about all the small presses, the epublishers, who have been in the trenches---heck, built the trenches---over these past years? Does it really take a King to make epublishing a successful venture?
Case in point: "Blue Moon" by C. D. Ledbetter.
The romantic suspense novel, "Blue Moon", was released just a few short weeks ago by DLSIJ Press. The book's author, C. D. Ledbetter, was just as thrilled by her first release as if it had been a hardcover or a paperback. She brought with her the belief that "Most writers aren't in the business for the money. They are writers because they have this unyielding urge to create stories and share them with others. However, if you can't bring your stories to the readers, you've already lost the war."
Ah, but would it sell? Would "Blue Moon" win this author's war? Would it bring her what every author craves---a readership that ends up writing a nice royalty check?
"Blue Moon" was simultaneously released as a RocketEdition for use on the rocket eBook. By the second week, the ebook had worked itself into 19th position on the Barnes & Noble eBook Bestseller List under Horror and Suspense. By the third week, it had assertively nudged its way up to the 9th position, where it stared respectfully at the King in the front of the line.
Sales of "Blue Moon" on the publisher's site have also continued to climb. The publisher states that reader response has been overwhelmingly positive, "other than the pardonable complaints that C. D. Ledbetter is 'addictive' and that the sequel has no release date."
C. D. Ledbetter may not be the King, and may never enjoy that comfortable throne at the front of the line, but her readers have made her, in just these few short weeks, a noble contender. All hail the reader! It is the reader who determines success and failure, the reader who makes this "Blue Moon" rise.
"Blue Moon" is available for immediate download in PDF, RocketEdition, and a Braille printer-friendly format. Book and order information can be found at http://dlsijpress.com/ledbetter/.
