OUR CHILDREN: Casualties of War

As long ago as 1960 the Scientific Community was aware of the dangers our children faced as a result of indiscriminate use of pesticides in our homes and schools. Issues concerning the toxic effects of pesticides were being extensively researched. My name is Dr. Gerald Weaver, and during this period I was a student in the School of Pharmacy at the University of Southern California.

Government and private research facilities were producing data that indicated the roach and ant were genetically capable of developing resistance to pesticides at an alarming rate. The predictable ramifications of this data became a serious concern throughout the country. since every school in the nation was being treated with the same pesticides that were the objects of these investigative research programs. It was estimated, then, that by the end of the century the population growth of these pests would reach astronomical proportions. Those predictions have come true.

As research continued, it was found that children were particularly sensitive to the effects of certain pesticides because of their developing physiology. Over the last 30 years studies have shown that there are serious risks associated with many pesticides, and that children are more sensitive to them than adults.

Childhood cancer rates have continued to rise over the past twenty years, and some of these increases have been directly linked to pesticide exposure. Asthma develops in children when exposed to not only pesticides but "roach pollen", the allergen produced by decaying tissue from dead roaches. Children and adults, both, have 70% more asthmatic attacks when in a home or school that is roach infested.

Upper respiratory infections and allergies have been directly linked to the roach. Salmonella and food poisoning are results of bacteria carried by the roach. Childrens absence from school due to the "flu bug going around", is in reality a result of contact with roaches or the pesticides used to try and kill them.

Although my primary concern has been the effects pesticides and the roach have on our children, the roach invasion we are currently facing effects every facet of our community. Revenue lost by establishments that cant control the roach is enormous. Tourist relating stories about their confrontation with a roach while visiting our town is not conducive to a healthy reputation to have, especially, when so many businesses rely on tourist trade.

The facets of our community are effected both directly and indirectly by the roach tends to raffle the imagination, There are San Diego families living in roach infested environments that are so horrifying it is difficult to believe without seeing.

There hasnt been a product on the market that effectively eradicates the roach until now. I began developing a product 20 years ago that would be harmless to children and pets, that would be non-toxic to the environment, that was cost effective for any household or business and most of all that really worked. The product I developed is RoachX Paste. It has been recently approved by the federal EPA and Californias EPA. It meets every criteria of safety and effectiveness concerned citizens groups have demanded for decades.

The community needs to know that there is a product now available that has never existed before. It is the only one of its kind and more effective and less toxic than any other product manufactured. Hopefully, this information can reach some of the community through your talk show. I hope to establish a program through the schools that will make parents aware that to keep their schools roach free, the home must be equally roach free. There is no reason our children should have to suffer any longer with long term diseases developing from contact with pesticides or roaches.
