THE WILD DAYS OF TUPAC SHAKUR ARE REVEALED IN NEW BOOK

New York, NY -- Static...My Tupac Shakur Story, written by Chopmaster-J, founding member of the late '80s rap group Digital Underground, mimics the personal life and the beginning rap career of the now deceased Tupac Shakur. From the moment Tupac joined the group as a dancer and roadie to his departure to start his solo rap career, Tupac caused havoc and well...static.

In this hardcover limited edition memoir, Chopmaster-J chronicles the Tupac people are so intrigued by...the bad bod of the West Coast. From Tupac's promiscuous sex escapades with young and vulnerable groupies on concert tours to his enraged temper that often times led to fights with sometimes innocent bystanders, Chopmaster-J holds no bars in Static. Unlike the numerous books that have been written on Tupac from a second hand account, Chopmaster-J shares first hand experiences. After all, he was the man who gave Tupac his first shot in the rap game, brought him in as a member of Digital Underground, and befriended him up until Tupac's untimely death.

This book should not be mistaken as lashing out at Tupac for his often times selfish ways and outrageously insane behavior. Chopmaster-J's intentions are pure and undefiled.

According to him, "My intention has not been to trivialize the great work of my group, Digital Underground, or the life of my friend, Tupac Shakur. My intention has been to chronicle the beginnings of a true hip hop and multimedia rebel. Tupac never wanted anyone's pity or sympathy, he wanted your attention."

Static is one of those books that should be placed in a time capsule, to be dug up twenty years from now. It's a definite collector's item. Give it as a gift during Black History Month, Black Music Month, Kwanzaa or whenever you want to drop truth and knowledge about one of hip-hop's most influential rappers.

Accompanied with this book is an enhanced CD, written and produced by Chopmaster-J and Strictly Dope, featuring several of the first-known recordings from original 1989 demo tapes by Tupac Shakur. The Lost Tapes circa 1989 is comprised of 10 tracks including "Panther Power," "A Day In The Life," "My Burnin' Heart," and "The Case of The Misplaced Mic II."

Chopmaster-J is the President and CEO of Herb 'n Soul Entertainment, a multimedia production company.

Chopmaster-J is available for interviews. Please contact Feona S. Huff at 212-757-2669.
