Show Biz Wizard's New Tool Takes the
Guesswork Out of Movie Speculation
Reduces Financial Risk & Increases
Likelihood of Film Success
HOLLYWOOD, CA.---Timed to coincide
with the 53rd annual Cannes Film
Festival, August Alonzo has launched
the Cine-Tec project which applies
technical analysis (a discipline
very well known in the financial
world) to speculation in motion
picture production (a discipline
quite new to the film industry).
Film-making has long been a
high-risk and high-capital
investment business - it's not
unusual for the Big Boys to spend
hundreds of millions of dollars
producing films (Titanic cost
$200,000,000; The Phantom Menace
cost $115,000,000) - but when the
rewards are so high (Titanic has
grossed over $1,234,600,000 and The
Phantom Menace $922,600,000) it's
easy to see why a tool that removes
some of the risk and increases the
chance of success would be highly
sought.
How many producers must have wished
for a way to determine the best time
to begin production, the best time
to go on location, the best time to
release their film?
Enter August Alonzo - a man who has
spent his entire adult life involved
in the complex worlds of
entertainment and finance. His
experience ranges from writing and
producing a musical destined for
Broadway, to appearing on national
television as a market forecaster,
to writing a nationally recognized
book on music therapy. If anyone
knows the difficulties faced by
producers and investors, it's
Alonzo.
Born and raised in Chicago, he began
his musical studies at the later
than normal age of twenty-one,
taking his music on the road and
then spending several years in both
New York and Hollywood - where he
began writing.
"In an effort to raise funds for my
show," says Alonzo, "I began working
at the Chicago Board of Trade.
There, I discovered and began
applying technical analysis to the
markets and was soon doing market
forecasting on national television.
I always felt there was a way to a
combine my entertainment and
financial talents, so I devised a
system for applying technical
analysis to motion picture
speculation."
Today, Cine-Tec is the one and only
company offering such services to
the motion picture industry.
The Cannes Film Festival is the
meeting place for the International
film scene and this year it begins
with a conference that will focus on
"The Cinema of Tomorrow."
Filmmakers, intellectuals and
professionals will discuss the state
of cinematographic creation that is
now confronted with economic and
technological upheavals. It is
precisely these "upheavals" that
Cine-Tec addresses with its program.
Says Alonzo, "We're launching the
Cine-Tec project now to take
advantage of a changing investment
sentiment."
L. J. Jensen, ( Technical Market
Analysts) goes one step further,
"This material is for the serious
winner who has the attitude of a
navigator and impersonally obeys his
computations. He is not in the
market for kicks but for profits."
