A Day-Tripper's Dream
Easton, PA, May 25, 2000 - With so much to do and see in the Delaware Water Gap area, a website about its many attractions and recreational opportunities was inevitable. And now it's here, <http://delawarewatergap.net>, the Delaware Water Gap Visitor's Guide, a production of webmaster Bonny Novack of Easton, PA.
Because this website covers an area straddling both sides of the Delaware River and puts the focus on history and recreation, it gives a unique outlook on what is available in the area, unlike other regional sites, which treat the NJ/PA state boundary as if that's where the world ends and focus almost exclusively on tourism. From the history and geology that makes this region so visually stimulating, to the hiking and biking trails, boating and camping opportunities, and more genteel and restful pursuits, such as antiqueing, that make this region fun, you'll find it on DelawareWaterGap.Net. There's also a community bulletin board for announcements. In future more personal vignettes of area residents and attractions will be added.
Local small businesses are invited to participate in DelawareWaterGap.Net at a nominal cost to assure that whatever product they offer of interest to area visitors is represented on the site. This is an opportunity for the small mom and pop business to develop a workable web presence within the larger context of the Delaware Water Gap regional website rather than trying to make a go of it alone.
For additional information, a printed screen shot, or photos, contact: Bonny Novack at (610)559-7159, or email her at .
If you love the Delaware Water Gap, or have never seen it, and want to do an afternoon of museum hopping, hike a trail, take a guided tour, find a park campground, or shop for antiques, DelawareWaterGap.Net will steer you in the right direction. The site has already been featured in the Sunday, May 7, 2000 Edition of the Easton PA Express-Times and in the Yahoo and Netscape Open Directories.
Bonny Novack has been creating personal and professional websites for almost three years, and is a former columnist for the Easton PA Express-Times. This is her first regional/specialty website, but won't be the last. The concept grew out of frustration in planning a Delaware Water Gap daytrip by surfing through at least ten search engines and over a hundred other websites to find bits and pieces of what is now offered on DelawareWaterGap.Net.
