ISPs Get Bucks for Backup
Internet Service Providers (PRWEB) June 3, 2000
As PC users recover from the recent I-LOVE-YOU virus attack, the issue of backing up data has been raised again. We all know we should backup, but currently there is no simple way of doing it. ISPs on the other hand are looking for new revenue streams, and ways of keeping their fickle customers. What some ISPs are discovering is they have a pot of gold right under their nose.
Seeing this synergy a group of innovative IT professionals developed a backup solution for ISPs to provide to their subscribers. Malcolm Edgar co-founder of ExpressBackup says "backing up is just too hard for most PC users, and after you backup where do you put your data. I believe that ISPs will be the backup service providers of the future. They are uniquely positioned to provide this service, they have got the customer base and they have got the technology infrastructure already in place. Our backup solution addresses peoples concern about security by encrypting their backup data before it leaves their computer, and by the fact that their data never passes across the Internet. It only travels between the user's PC and their ISP's server."
To ease the pain of virus attacks and loosing data, PC users need an off-site automated backup solution. ISPs are uniquely positioned to be the gateway for this added value service. For the next 2 weeks, ISPs can preview ExpressBackup at www.expressbackup.com.
