Cyber Tigers Online (www.cyber-tigers.com), a virtual community of small and
midsize enterprises (SMEs) in Asia gearing up for e-commerce, today launched
TigerTalk[sm]: a free business-to-business (B2B) e-mail service that can help
overcome language and word processing barriers in online communication
worldwide. As non-English speaking Internet users are projected to overtake
English speakers as the majority by 2002, the market for effective e-mail in
multi-lingual and cross-cultural environments is growing rapidly.
TigerTalk[sm] is the first, fast, and free B2B e-mail service on the Web with
flawless translations and little or no typing.

TigerTalk[sm] is designed to face three realities that present barriers to
effective e-mail, especially among SMEs, in the global economy. First,
machine (or software) translation of free-form text, while undergoing
continuing improvement, is still far from reliable use in business. Second,
keyboard input and word processing in non-alphabetic languages such as
Chinese can be cumbersome, requiring steep learning curves. Third, most
routine business correspondence revolves around combinations and variations
of a limited list of basic elements, yet resulting in repetitious, non-value
adding clerical tasks.

By supplying point-and-click menu selection of key elements, along with
sufficient flexibility to accommodate a variety of purposes, TigerTalk[sm]
generates concise yet properly composed messages with little or no typing.
Using pre-programmed translations of the key elements, and incorporating
relevant syntactic logic, it renders flawless copies in any of the supported

the recipient of the free and easy-to-use service.

In the current release, TigerTalk[sm] focuses on inter-language exchanges in
Chinese, Japanese, English, Spanish, French, and German, with Korean, Polish,
Russian, and more to follow. The user composes e-mail in one language and
sends it in another. However, significant intra-language use is envisioned as
it minimizes word processing, even when no translation is required. The
generic version, with obvious limitations, is offered free on the Cyber Tigers
Online Web site (www.cyber-tigers.com) as the basic service. It will be
upgraded continually based on feedback from users. More sophisticated and
specialized versions will be offered as customized, fee-based services. These
may range from individual accounts for a nominal monthly charge to large-scale
implementation on corporate intranets and extranets. Alliances with major B2B
portals worldwide are also being planned.
