Teenagers on the web rampage
TEENFRONT.COM
The award-winning web magazine.
A 16-year-old schoolboy from Alnwick in Northumberland has designed and launched a groundbreaking new teenage website. Teenfront.com editor, Nick Bell, is now juggling work for ten GCSEs at Newcastles Royal Grammar School (RGS) with running the magazine.
Nick recognised the teenage gap on the web last year and was ready to launch in February but he had a frustrating wait for various contracts to be finalised. Now its launched hes confident teenfront.com will go from strength to strength.
Teenfront.com went online at Easter and now receives thousands of hits per day.
Less than ten days after it was launched one of Britains top Internet search directories, UK Plus, had given teenfront.com the site of the day" award in the UK Plus Review.
Teenfront is well worth the nod today for proving that youth is no bar to producing a fun, easy-to-use, professional-looking site.
There are items on new gadgets, a game for Richard Branson wannabes, top webcams around the world and a top ten 90s album chart. Can you believe Oasis's What's The Story, Morning Glory from 1995 is number one?
There is a horoscope by Russell Grant that has a so-called "love machine", which decides whether you and your significant other have the right star sign to take things further. One for hard-core stargazers!
There is also a problem page, health advice and product reviews, which featured hair care for red heads. No doubt skin care will feature at some stage. The humour section has so far resisted the temptation of smut, inviting readers to send in photos of a "mate in a state", in other words someone not looking at their best."

Article by UKPLUS Writer Jeremy Holder.
Teenfront.com includes everything from homework help, translation services, music news, free email addresses and homepages, movie and TV listings and reviews to on line competitions. Russell Grant is supplying horoscopes and friends write other pages for him. Teenfront.com have appealed for other crew members" to contribute articles. However the site is constantly in the process of negotiating new deals for more online content. There are lots of deals in the pipeline at the moment which will hopefully be finalised when my GCSEs are finished."
Nick who has become one of Britains youngest dotcom entrepreneurs, was inspired by reading Richard Bransons autobiography. He started a teenage magazine at 16," says Nick. I just hope I can be as successful as him". But hes planning to stay on at school and take A-levels before going to University to study Economics or Business Studies first.
Future income will come from selling banner advertising on the pages and franchising out sections of the site. Teenfront.com is also looking for financial backers.
Every school in the country now has Internet access and more and more people are going on the web," he said.
Its a truly teenage product - created by teenagers for teenagers."
