PHONEBRIDGE BECOMES CATALYST TO FREE LONG DISTANCE EXPLOSION

Columbia, MD, June 1, 2000 - MHL Communications, Inc. announced today that it has started regular shipments of its Phonebridge computer telephony product to customers.

According to company president, Howard Leshner, "With the introduction of Phonebridge, a new wave of free and very low cost long distance phone services is currently storming the consumer market. Now, with the availability of this product, consumer acceptance of Internet phone services is ready to explode."

Market tests show that consumers using Phonebridge experience a higher level of satisfaction than with other Internet based telephony accessories and tend to use Internet phone services more frequently.

"The beauty of Phonebridge is its simplicity. It is the first and only product to connect a telephone and computer for Internet calls without the need to install hardware or software into the computer," Leshner explains.

Industry analysts predict an explosion in demand for Internet telephone services when the process becomes more user-friendly. Phonebridge addresses this issue with its ease of use. A computer accessory, Phonebridge allows users to plug any standard telephone into a computer sound card for Internet calls. Calls are connected through the PC. The user talks and listens through a telephone instead of a headset or speakers and microphone, as is the case with other computer telephony products. In addition, Phonebridge provides Internet telephone users the quality and "feel" of a conventional phone. Callers can plug in a real telephone, even a cordless phone , making it possible for them to walk away from their computer during an internet phone conversation.

According to Leshner, "Based on the excellent feedback from early users, we know Phonebridge will rock the industry. It's the missing link needed to enable rapid consumer acceptance of all the new web-based phone services hitting the market." These new voice-enabled web services include Net2phone (NTOP), Microsoft Netmeeting (MSFT), ITXC Corp. (ITXC), and Vocaltec (VOCL).

In addition to bridging the gap between standard telephones and personal computers, Phonebridge offers a number of other features. Unlike microphones, handsets and headsets, Phonebridge offers the clean, clear sound quality of a real telephone, eliminating the primary cause of echo using proprietary signal processing technology.

According to Leshner, "Using Phonebridge in conjunction with new internet telephone services also provides users with a virtual extra phone line with no telephone charges of any kind. Homes with only one phone line can now browse the internet with a computer in one room, and talk on a cordless phone to grandma in another room; and grandma doesn't even need a computer!"

MHL Communications, Inc, Phonebridge's manufacturer, is rapidly developing partnerships and expanding internal resources to meet demand. For more details visit the Phonebridge.com web site.
