Bob Bakers www.thebuzzfactor.com Gives Independent Bands and Record Labels More Online Marketing Muscle
St. Louis, MO -- In 1994, Bob Baker started what had to be the first e-mail newsletter for independent bands and record labels. Then called the Musical Success Resource Guide," Bakers e-mails gave subscribers free advice on how to cut through the clutter and use creative thinking to promote indie music on a budget.
Six years later, his message is still going strong. The name has changed to The Buzz Factor." In addition to the newsletter (which has about 2,700 subscribers), his web site has a clean, fresh look and a new web address: www.thebuzzfactor.com
Being an indie musician myself, I know how important it is to find the info and resources I need quickly -- whether Im trying to find a listing of internet radio stations, recommendations on sites that sell indie music or just some new ideas on how to make a few more dollars on CD sales," says Baker, who is author of The Guerrilla Music Marketing Handbook" and Ignite Your Creative Passion," among other titles.
The new www.thebuzzfactor.com home page features a potent list of online music resources, including music directories and search engines, performance rights organizations, music media links, places to get reviewed, sites that promote unsigned bands and more. There are also a handy set of links to Bakers recent marketing columns and other helpful music business articles across the Web.
The Internet has created a world of opportunity for independent musicians, but the sheer bulk of information out there can be overwhelming," adds Baker. The Buzz Factor is designed to help make the confusing process of promoting and selling music a lot easier."
