TOKYO, JP -- June 14, 2000 -- Matthew Keddy, president and CEO of eZuz.com Inc. (www.ezuz.com) is presenting a keynote speech at Japans largest IT forum, Foresite 2000 (www.foresite.2000.com), to address next generation IT trends and the way eZuz will change the future of online shopping worldwide.
The speech highlights the need for e-businesses to anticipate trends, adapt to them quickly, while consistently putting their partners and customers at the forefront. eZuz recognizes that online shopping will soon become fully integrated on a global scale and that consumers are now realizing how new technologies and services can make their shopping experience familiar, yet nimble. eZuz proposes that this hybrid approach is essential in designing a successful one-stop, full service global online shopping portal.
Personalized e-commerce is the only way we will be able to meet the growing number of consumers who simply want to find what they are looking for on the Internet," said Keddy. eZuz will map the future of online shopping by localization, personalization and providing full service customer care."
Shoeisha Corp., a leading software publishing communications software design and IT company in Japan, is hosting the forum. Among those participating in, and supporting, the 17,000-strong gathering are Softbank Investment Corp., Sun Microsystems K.K., Tokyo Stock Exchange, Nasdaq Japan, Inc, Microsoft Co., Ltd and Asahi Bank Investment Co., Ltd and Small and Medium Industry Promotion Company (Korea).
This forum is a testament of our need to gather, exchange ideas and make sense of all the moving parts on the Internet today," said Keddy. We are the IT innovators of tomorrow and as our venture businesses continue to grow, evolve and adapt to new technologies and markets, we look to each other to remain steadfast. "
Japan is a leader in mobile technology and according to Japans Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (MPT), the number of people using and accessing the Internet through wireless devices has surpassed the North American and European markets by three times. MPT also predicts that e-Commerce spending in Japan will reach US$27.5 billion by 2002, from US$3.78 billion in 1999.
