Sutton Javelin Communications to be Presented
With Award of Appreciation at Charity Event
Toronto, June 14, 2000 -- Among the many festivities at the 2000 Card-a-thon in the Park charity event this weekend, Sutton Javelin will be recognized with an award for the charitable work donated to CARD (Community Association for Riding for the Disabled) over the past year.
Gord Sutton, President and Founder, Sutton Javelin and Maite Martin, Chief Operating Officer, Sutton Javelin will be on hand Saturday, June 17, for an award presentation from CARD at the 8:45 am opening ceremony for the riders. Sandy Hawley (one of Canadas premier jockeys) and Sandy Webster Stolte (Executive Director of CARD) will host the presentation, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony to send-off the riders. The event will be at 4777 Dufferin Street, located within G. Ross Lord Park.
Above all else, one of primary goals from day one has been our dedication to supporting local Toronto childrens charities," says Gord Sutton, President, Sutton Javelin. When Maite brought CARD to my attention, I immediately knew we should be dedicating our interests to their cause."
Sutton Javelin has not only developed the new CARD logo that further highlights the special relationship shared between the horses and the riders, but also designed and produced a corporate brochure that showcases CARD to corporations interested in making a charitable donation.
Card-a-thon is an all-day event (9 am -- 3 pm) where 19 horses are teamed with corporate sponsors, celebrity volunteers and the riders themselves, to complete a 25-kilometer race. Among those attending at the opening ceremony will be Joe Carter, the Metro Toronto Mounted Police, plus approximately 70 riders and volunteers.
