Ajay Bhatia, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Innovative Management and Technology Approaches, Inc. (IMTAS) today announced that Carolyn G. Morris has been named President of IMTAS . She will assume her duties in Washington, D.C. on June 30, 2000.

From 1995 until her recent retirement after 30 years of federal service, Mrs. Morris served as the Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) Assistant Director for the Information Resources Division. In this role, she was responsible for applying innovative information management and technical approaches to support the ever-expanding mission of the FBI. Under her stewardship the FBI successfully implemented many significant technology programs. Chief among these was the implementation of the National Crime Information Center 2000 (NCIC 2000) system.
Before her promotion to Assistant Director, Mrs. Morris served as a Deputy Assistant Director from 1984 until 1995. As the Deputy Assistant Director for Information Technology she was responsible for architectures, design and integration of applications, data center operations, information security, and technical infrastructure (hardware, software, networks) for the FBI enterprise. Prior to joining the FBI in 1980 as Chief of the Systems Development Section Mrs. Morris worked for the Department of Defense. During her tenure with the Department of Defense, she won the Army PACE Award, the highest award given to a civilian.
Mrs. Morris received a Bachelors Degree from North Carolina Central University and a Masters Degree from Harvard University in Mathematics.
