SpinDev Broadband Media Changes Name to SpinTV; Name Reflects Company Redirection

Richardson, Texas - SpinDev Broadband Media, a company originally dedicated to the development of dynamic web creations using broadband technologies, announced it has changed its name to SpinTV, a name that better reflects the companys new direction and the rapid growth of the technology with which it works. The announcement was made today, August 3, by Brian and Scott Lillig, co-founders of the company.

Its more than a new name," said SpinTV CEO Brian Lillig. We have simply specialized our product development efforts within an emerging market giving us a great advantage over competitors and allowing SpinTV the opportunity to become a leader in the interactive television (iTV) space. This is the industry sometimes referred to as convergence" -- it combines the dynamic functionality of the personal computer with the passive ways of television to create a more compelling and interactive experience."

SpinTV has developed strategic alliances with four of the major players within the iTV market, including MicrosoftTV, Liberate Technologies (AOLTV), OpenTV and Macromedia. These key partnerships, with the leading providers of interactive television and Internet technologies, enable SpinTV to develop applications and tools for the iTV market using open industry standards.

We began our corporate redirection about six months ago," reports SpinTVs chief information officer, Scott Lillig. After developing the website and TV user-interface that allows VideosDotCom to offer video-on-demand services through the Internet via the television, we realized that the convergence of television and the Internet is where new technology developments are taking place. Scott Lillig also pointed out that SpinTV is not only the firms new name, but also the firms new Internet address, www.spin.tv. The company was one of the first to take advantage of the .TV domain names being offered to broadcasters and media-related firms.
