Personal True Type fonts

It is now possible to use ones own handwriting on PCs and Macintosh computers. The Swedish company Intentor AB launches a service allowing customers to have their very own True Type font produced within a few days. Anyone with the wish to become more personal on the Internet may order a personal True Type font, made out of his or her own handwriting, at www.mytruetype.com. The price for the service is 28 US dollars.

A customer orders a personal True Type font by faxing a form with all the characters in the alphabet (including numbers and other useful symbols) written by hand to one of the order faxes. Intentor AB uses the form to produce a True Type font that can be used in Windows PCs or Macintosh computers. Almost all applications such as word processors allow the user to select their personal font after installing it on the computer.

The Swedish version of the service has been very well received on the market, and the press has praised this new possibility to increase the personal touch of any computer produced material and electronic communications.
