FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Pacific Microinstruments and TikiSoft Team Up To Deliver Palm OS Expansion Slot Solutions

Sierra Madre, CA and Lake Forest, CA, August 16, 2000 -- Pacific Microinstruments and TikiSoft, Inc. announced today the creation of a strategic alliance capable of delivering combined hardware and software solutions for the Palm Computing platform. The two companies in tandem will now provide complete development solutions for PDA devices with hardware expansion slots, including the Handspring(tm) Visor(tm) handheld computer.

Pacific Microinstruments, innovators of handheld expansion products and services, will serve as the hardware and manufacturing arm of the partnership, while TikiSoft, a leader in Palm OS solutions for enterprise and wireless technologies, will take the lead in software design.

The new group recently completed a wireless heart rate fitness module for the Handspring Visor handheld computer. This product allows the tracking and recording of the users heart rate during their daily workout, and allows the user to replay and analyze their exercise effort.

AN EXPANDING TECHNOLOGY
"The increase in expandable PDA devices, including Sony's MemoryStick(tm) storage technology, Compact Flash, Handspring's Springboard modules and Palm's newly announced Secure Digital (SD) Card creates a huge demand for solutions that require an integrated hardware and software solution" said Marc Weiss, President and CEO of TikiSoft, Inc. "By teaming with Pacific Microinstruments, we can now offer a powerful and timely solution to our growing customer base".

Clients will gain access to a combined arsenal of Palm OS technologies including digital audio, text to speech, video, fitness, scientific survey, health, data acquisition, sensors, and wireless control systems, all with the benefit of working with a single point of contact. Combined the companies hold three offices in California and Oregon.

"TikiSoft and Pacific Microinstruments will continue internal research efforts to develop technology and knowledge that benefit our clients through design services," said Eric Canuteson, Ph.D., President, Pacific Microinstruments.
