Kedash Moves to No. 1 in Europe

South Florida's very own Kedash has moved to the number one position on the music charts over at U.K. Sounds. U.K. Sounds is a music distribution company based out of the United Kingdom that sells music to European music fans in the new protected Windows Music (WMA) format. Kedash's song J-1 Baby was placed with U.K. Sounds on July 25, 2000. On Saturday August 12, (less than a month later) we were informed by U.K Sounds that Kedash's song had just made their Top-10 chart. We went to check it out and sure enough it was at #10. About five days later the song was at #1.

Kedash is also at the number 8 position on the MP3.com R&B charts this week. The song J-1 Baby has been offered as a free download by her record label Sky Hi Records & Films, Inc. as a way to give back to the rapidly developing Internet music community. This has resulted in lots of great exposure for Kedash both globally and here in the United States. This move to embrace the mp3 service was made after the San Diego, California based Internet music company (MP3.COM, Inc.) decided to settle its differences with BMG Entertainment and Warner Music Group to the tune of $100 Million. "Sky Hi Records & Films, Inc. felt it was time to take the mp3 service offered by www.mp3.com serious after the company showed that it was willing to respect the creative work of all artists in the music industry" said Rodger Knowles, C.E.O. of Sky Hi Records & Films, Inc. "The internet is fast becoming the place for Record Labels and Artists to test market their music as upposed to college radio stations", he said. Kedash has moved past such acts as TLC and Tamara Braxton (sister of Toni Braxton) who have placed a few selections of their own music on the MP3 service for Internet users to enjoy. Sky Hi Records has also embraced the Napster service even though the ongoing lawsuits by Metallica, Dr. Drey and others have not yet been settled. "We feel that placing a single downloadable music file on the Napster service so that potential fans can sample for free is a wise decision that has the potential of reaching millions of new fans" said Sky Hi Records' Rodger Knowles.

Kedash has just finished filming her music video for the song "Love Can Be Funny Sometimes" and it should start airing around the middle of September when the single of the same name is released. Sky Hi Records & Films, Inc. is also putting together the final details on the Kedash - Real Life Situations tour that will be co-sponsored by MP3.com and Indie Music News. This tour will feature some of the other artists of this South Florida based record label. Sky Hi Records is also developing a compilation CD and an Industry Movie that will feature Kedash along with the other artist of this fast growing company.
