West Indian Beauty Pageant Debuts In November

The first annual Soca Queen beauty pageant will be held on Saturday evening, November 4, 2000 at the Soca Paradise in Hollis, Queens.

Contestants of Guyanese, Trinidadian and other backgrounds will compete for the title of Soca Queen in swimsuit, evening gown and talent competitions. Cash prizes and merchandise will be awarded to the winner and runners-up. There will also be a raffle of prizes for those in attendance.

In addition to the beauty competition, there will be live entertainment featuring top Guyanese and Trinidadian performers.

Tickets to this event are $12 in advance and $15 at the door.
