Teresa Lyle 404-214-4351H.E. Harris Acquires Sacagawea Coins from Goodacre.Atlanta, GA--August 31 -- H.E. Harris & Company, a leading source for numismatic and philatelic collectibles, has announced that it will offer a very limited number of Sacagawea Golden Dollars purchased from the personal collection of coin designer, Glenna Goodacre. These dollars arent rare simply because Goodacre owned them; this batch of 5,000 dollar coins was a separate minting done exclusively for the designer. The coins are different from those in circulation because they were burnished, treated with an antioxidant, and have been encapsulated in slabs (Please note, however, that because of the special burnishing, these coins cannot be graded).Goodacre accepted the coins as payment for her winning obverse coin design featuring the young Shoshone woman, Sacagawea, carrying her infant son, Jean Baptiste. While she will keep 2,500 to give to family and friends, Goodacre chose H.E. Harris & Company to distribute a select number ofher Golden Dollars after an extremely successful autographing appearance at the Harris booth during this years ANA convention. The artist sold 100 of the coins at the convention and has granted H.E. Harris exclusive retailing rights. Teresa Lyle, Manager of Research and Content Development at H.E. Harris, is enthusiastic about the offering saying, We are proud that Glenna Goodacre feels that H.E. Harris & Company is an appropriate outlet through which to share her treasure with the world."H.E. Harris & Company began offering the coins on August 29 through its catalog and website (www.heharris.com). These Sacagawea rarities will initially be priced at $200.00; after that, the price will be determined by market value and is subject to change without notification. Because of the limited quantity, H.E. Harris is limiting purchases to one coin per customer. The company is advising customers: Please, if this coin is important to you, purchase now. We dont want to have to say no to any
collector."Authenticity of the Goodacre dollars is guaranteed. The Independent Coin Grading Company (ICG) has certified each one of the 5,000 coins. If a Sacagawea is one of the Goodacre minting, it will carry an individually numbered certification label that leaves no doubt as to its provenance.
